Blood Volume Measurement

BSM works with CardioVol Corp. on products that relate to bio-admittance measurements of blood volume. CardioVol Corp. is a company of investors that either owns, or is the exclusive licensor for all patents and trademarks related to bio-admittance measurement in humans. This technology was mostly conceived by BSM scientists John Porterfield and Anil Kottam during their PhD tenures at the University of Texas at Austin.

While BSM typically monetizes new technologies by out-licensing manufacturing, blood volume measurement products will be commercialized directly by BSM under a strategic alliance agreement with CardioVol Corp. Upcoming products include:

Hemodynamic Monitoring for Weaning from Mech Cardiac Support

Impella Cardiac Output

This technology enables real-time hemodynamic measurements (Cardiac Output) directly from a market-leading mechanical cardiac support device.

Post Cardiac Surgery Hemodynamics Diagnostic Device

Smart Pericardial Drain

This technology enables a modified Blake drain to measure hemodynamics in patients recovering from cardiac surgery, to clarify the cause a drop in blood pressure (hypotension) in the cardiac critical care unit.
